[Seoul=Newsis] Reporter Bae Yohan — Camera module supplier NAMUGA announced on the 10th that it has signed a partnership MOU with global semiconductor leader Infineon Technologies.
The signing ceremony took place the previous day at the Infineon booth during the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2025). Attendees included NAMUGA CEO Lee Dong-ho and Philipp Schierstaedt, Senior Vice President overseeing sales for Infineon’s Consumer, Computing, and Communication division.
Through the partnership MOU, the two companies reaffirmed their commitment to providing differentiated Time of Flight (ToF) camera solutions and promoting mutual growth based on ToF sensor and 3D vision camera module technologies. This partnership aims to strengthen collaboration on ToF technology services and promote solutions to global customers.
Infineon has been collaborating with NAMUGA, which has dedicated over a decade to developing 3D vision solutions, since 2022. The new partnership is expected to expand their technological cooperation across various fields, including rear-view cameras (RVC), augmented reality and virtual reality (AR/VR), automotive, security, and biomedical devices. This collaboration will accelerate the development of ToF technology and the companies’ efforts to penetrate the global market.
NAMUGA CEO Lee Dong-ho expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "We are delighted to establish this partnership with Infineon, a global leader in ToF sensor technology. As the demand for 3D image sensing technology continues to grow, we will work closely with Infineon to develop diverse solutions for global customers and emerge as a market leader."
3D vision camera module technology, when combined with AI, is increasingly being demanded in fields such as extended reality (XR), autonomous driving, and medical diagnostics, requiring optimized solutions. NAMUGA plans to solidify its leadership in the 3D camera module market through continuous technological development and product innovation.
Additionally, NAMUGA is expanding its customer base through collaborations with various domestic and international companies. The company continues to strengthen its global presence, maintaining successful supply relationships with major enterprises and gaining recognition for its technological capabilities.
